  • Do I need to have a Telkom landline before I apply for a 086 number?

  • How much do I get paid for incoming calls?

    You get paid 10 cents per minute for the first 1000 minutes after which you get paid 15 cents per minute. Your minutes reset to zero at the beginning of each month.

  • Do I get paid for all calls to the 086 number?

    No. Only calls originating from Telkom landlines generate a commission.

  • Do I get paid for all minutes generated?

    No. If your 086 number generates less than 200 minutes per month, there will be no commission paid to you. Your minutes reset to zero at the beginning of each month.

  • When do I get paid?

    The beginning of the month. You will be notified when your number has generated more than 200 minutes and asked to supply us with your banking details.

  • Can the 086 number be called from a cellular or Neotel phone?

    Yes.

  • Can the 086 number be called from an international number?

    No. The number can only be dialled from within South Africa.

  • Can the 086 number be diverted to another number when I'm out of the office?

    Yes, but the normal Telkom divert function needs to be activated on your Telkom landline. Please take note that you will be charged the divert fees by Telkom.
